Folks and hearts.
I haven't written anything on here for a very long time. I can definitely share that I slept so soundly last night and the night before... and recently, those nights have been hard to come by. I lie in my bed and look at the art work and framed pictures and then I begin missing all of those people who I know truly care about my well-being and my happiness.
I still live in LA, but my heart still lies with family in friends in San Diego in addition to those others who have moved far away. People are so important to me.

for lovers
And now, Yi says, she finally understands love: “I don’t think I was
ever bitter or skeptical, I was just stupid and naïve. But now I think
love is when you’re comfortable with someone and you can wash clothes
with them, or fart in front of them. Once the lust is gone, you either
have something real or nothing at all. But relationships are worth
fighting for.”

Being with the right one is easy.
My friend told me this... and I believe it to be true. Right now, love is easy. Fun is easy. Life is easy, and I appreciate it. Thank you, the powers that be.
To be with the "one" is easy, and yet it can still seem difficult. Nothing worthwhile is easy to comeby. I'm a fully believer in this idea because of what I've witnessed and experienced.

Traveling
I feel like I have been bitten by a bug that transmits an incurable disease known to us as the traveling bug! I want to leave, leave, leave!! I want to be out of this country... for at least 2 weeks! We've been planning, but nothing has been solidified. I'm literally itching to vacate and relax, and release. Who is with me!?
This is where I want to go... this is where I need to go!

Words cannot express how I felt when I heard the news. "Michael Jackson is dead." First, I was in utter disbelief and then the shock hit. MJ is invincible, he's supposed to live forever, he's supposed to be alive and kicking when my children grow up and are capable of listening to his music and appreciating his legend.
Woah. Not only was it a shock, but it was deeply saddening because, of course, the media must do its duty and raise all controversial and useless times in his life. Can't he rest in peace? Even though we all think and believe we know how his life transpired and what he was guilty or innocent of, we have no idea what he experienced on a daily basis or throughout his life. To be in a place where he commanded crowds of millions and made men, women and children cry at the sight of him... he was monumental, and I feel it rude and distasteful to act as if it was a situation other than that.
Think of his family; his children, his brothers and sister, his parents and his friends. They've lost not only a legend, but a loved one. May he R.I.P.
I will always remember him! Annie are you ok!?!?!
Cheers to Michael Jackson and his accomplishments, there will never be another.

Boyfriend.
So, relationships are hard. They test you in all possible ways, they teach you how to love, how not to love, how to respect, how not to hurt and sometimes, still end in heartache.
For me, a boyfriend is my best friend. I can tell him anything, he can tell me anything. We love, laugh, fight, tease, get sick, become upset, cry, scream and rejoice together. He is my partner and the one I can always count on to support and love me.
Some people spend their entire lives searching for their one "true" love. Others are too afraid of becoming vulnerable and really letting someone have their heart. Every day is packed full of decisions that can determine your life, love and happiness. Make sure those decisions count and are true to you.
I love you.

Words to Live by.
This was forwarded to me (thanks D.) and I think it's amazing awesome.
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends
and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month..
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day.. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.

done with TFA...
Sunday night was a celebration... the culmination of the last 2 years of hard work, sacrifice, blood shed (literally), and amazing achievement. My experience with Teach for America will never be forgotten... it has changed my life in so many ways, and will be a significant factor in what influences my career choices and life decisions.

Happy Memorial Day!
I spent my day doing a bunch of nothing, watching a random movie that had many "boom, boom, fire, fire!!" scenes, and then I prepared for the week ahead of me.
I haven't been to work in 3 days due to a nasty flu, so upon my return I shall most definitely make up for the missed-stress, antagonizing remarks and dreary lives of women- all tomorrow. lol. I actually hope it's a fantastic day, because although I was sick Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, my weekend was a lot better.
Family, fun, sun, food, drinks. The makings of great memories and laughs. Cheers.

Ever wonder?
when we ask questions, should we live into the answers? If we are inquiring a specific response, should we delve straight in? I think so, only then can true satisfaction be attained.

Lions, and tigers and bears
I'm not scared of lions and tigers and bears
but I'm scared of loving you
I'm not scared to perform at a sold-out affair,
but I'm scared of loving you
Am I the only one who thinks this is an impossible task?
Is that too much to ask?
Why do we love, love?
If love seems to hate us?
but I'm scared of loving you

How does one "move on". Really?
I've been battling this question because I can't seem to answer it succintly... To end a relationship and then to be in a place where you can start anew and discover another type of love is real, but it's not easy. Depending on where you were when the relationship ended, you may find yourself in different places thereafter. I seem to have been the villain in some relationships, ending it despite its necessity- but still, ending it. In the past it was possible because my feelings were quite clear and my actions only followed. Now it's a bit different, my actions did not follow my feelings- well, I suppose my actions followed particular feelings which I had not thought through. Life is life, and we must deal as it happens! Thank god for the air in my lungs, the beating of my heart and the strength of my brain!

feelings
Sometimes they're quite overwhelming. They remind you of your existence, they let you know that you continue to have air in your lungs, blood running through your veins and the ability to think and live (which is hopefully the case).

Instead of focusing on the First Lady mistouching, I think this touch speaks loads!
Goodbye Danity Kane
I actually enjoyed this girl group... oh well.
I always liked Dawn, but, to be honest, you need all of the flavors to make a good recipe: a good girl (Dawn), a smart girl (Shannon), a bad girl (Aubrea), the girl next door (Aundrea) and the background chick (D. Woods). Without all of the pieces to the puzzle, they were always destined to fail... especially working with Diddy...

Seven Pounds
So... I am definitely aware of the fact that I am "late" as far as me just seeing Seven Pounds... I literally just finished watching it and I cannot get it out of my head. It was astonishingly new and extremely powerful, a film that continues to make you wonder long after the credits have finished.
I believe Will Smith has reached his prime, he continues to put out great films that demonstrate his versatility as well as his beauty. This film was beautifully crafted and it just makes you think about life and what is truly important. Lives can end today, tomorrow or the next day... the thing is, you never know. But if you did, how would you choose to spend your last days?
Better yet, how would you feel if you were the cause of others losing their lives? How would you spend your final days, would you strive for redemption, what would you be willing to do? All of these questions and many more are both explored and answering throughout this film.
I actually cried for God's sake! I just don't know what I would do or how I would be mentally if I lost the most important person/ people in my life. I don't know if I could continue living my life in a normal way, or at least in a way similar to what it was before the loss. I'd rather not think of such things; however, accidents happen - fatal accidents in which loved ones are lost everyday. What would you do?
I don't know.
But, if anything, this movie reminded me of how precious time is- especially with loved ones. Remember to tell them that you love them and don't stay mad for too long, it's not worth it.

What's Next?
TFA is almost over... and I'm not sure where my life will take me next. PhD? Marketing? Educating? ...
Hollyhood
So... I've lived in LA for almost two years now, have I become an Angelino? Hell no. Have I learned to love LA? No. Do I still hate it? No. I think I've come a long way.
My family came up from San Diego to visit me today, and they wanted to do "touristy" things, I must admit, I had fun. We ate at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, we went to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and the Getty... lots, lots, lots. I think I enjoyed myself majorly because my family is crazy and when we're together... it's seriously fun.

3x3=9.
There are only 10 "square root days" in a century, and today was one of them. Yes, this is how bored I am. HELP!

truth v. lies
truth is usually in singular, lies always come in plural.
This is so intriguing to me because if you really take the time to think about it, it's true! Truth is a one way street, oftentimes, but lies take double the the time to construe and execute. ::sigh::

A great recipe...
for happiness...
1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God about what is going on in your life. Buy a lock if you have to.
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today. I am thankful for ______________'.
4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot c ontrol. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a College kid with a maxed out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
12. You are not so important that you have to win every argument. agree to disagree.

and then.
today, someone told me "don't get hurt" and I had to take a moment to think about that. Do I actually have the power of fully protecting myself against any type of negative influences, or selfish indulgences? I believe I can... to a certain extent, and then what?
All I wanna do is be happy... is that so much to ask? I'm still on my path trying to find all that "happiness" is... and it's so hard! Living life is hard, but why can't it be fun?!!? Mine is... most of the time.

History at the Inauguration
Obama Inauguration 01-20-2009
Great times were had... and I don't even think I truly have the time to communicate my experience of being at the Mall and sharing this precious moment in history. I will... eventually, the thoughts are etched only in my mind... and have been orated via a glass of wine among great friends.
It will come. :)
