Significance and Knowledge

The Vice Presidential position is the least significant while, at the same time, the most potentially significant role in Congress. Lets be honest, McCain is a seemingly qualified candidate for the US. I don't agree with many of his proposed "changes", but I feel as if he'd definitely have a lot of cleaning up to do- as would Barack Obama. HOWEVER, what many people fail to realize is that if and when the President becomes ill or suddenly passes away, the VP IS- In fact!- the new President of the United States! It hasn't happened often in history, but it has happened! In addition to its rarities, McCain is one of the eldest candidates to run for the Presidential position. This means that Sarah Palin can and most likely WILL become President of the United States if people vote for the Republican ticket.

It's just ridiculous. Even more than ridiculous, it's just scary.

Journalist, Charlie Gibson, held an exclusive interview with the VP candidate and I was baffled at her supposed "answers". She continuously skirted around the questions, never completely answering, while addressing Charlie by his first name-- maybe a dozen times. My point is, who cares what the Bush Doctrine is?!?! If anyone does care, it's the way in which the US handles foreign conflict and the strategy in which to react... I didn't know it had an official name until recently. But, you know who should I expect to be very knowledgeable of this? Sarah Palin, John McCain, Joe Biden and Barack Obama. These four individuals should be very much aware of what it means, its intentions, its victories and failures as well as its current status... she didn't know. IF someone wants to truly influence change and empower the American people, shouldn't they know what's been going on? How can you look to make change, without knowing your OWN history? Alaska may not be a part of the mainland, but it's, nonetheless, still a part of it.

That's all I have to say.
