Why wouldn't you VOTE Barack Obama!?!?!??

Part II
I just had the most interesting/ frustrationg conversation with a friend about the current political climate of the US, and the potential aftermath of the upcoming elections in November.
I have a difficult time comprehending why any citizen wouldn't or couldn't see the good in voting for Barack Obama. Are we still being held back by prejudice and negative stereotypes? He told me that his family would never vote for Barack Obama, not because of his policies, not because of his record and background, but simply because the man in black. They don't want a black man in office, they'd rather McCain simply because he's White. The thing that irks me, actually pisses me the F*%$!! off is that these people are completely unaware and uninformed and still hold the right and privilege of voting. This is what scares me about America. People have sacrificed their lives, their well-being, their rights just so that they could ensure a better future for their children and their children's children. So, how do we repay those individuals? We decide to be ignorant and still participate. We decide to pretend to have an educated opinion, and make a mockery of our "so-called" democracy. I will always respect a voter who is informed, educated, interested and opinionated in their stance- even if their voting for an idiot, rather than one who is completely unaware of the issues and votes solely upon superficial things coupled with their personal biases and prejudices. It's just stupid.
I'm really pissed off about this.
